KENDRICK BRINSON PHOTOGRAPHS REMEMBER THE REMOVAL BIKE RIDE FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES

Sentiments of remembrance, honor, and camaraderie flood Kendrick Brinson's photos of the 2026 Remember The Removal Bike Ride cyclists on their 950-mile journey from Georgia to Oklahoma, retracing the northern route of the Trail of Tears. Through Brinson's lens, the haunting southern landscape and the riders' emotional hugs and high fives come together to create a dynamic portrait of how heritage and historical pain are acknowledged in contemporary America.
