What began as a collaboration with Louisiana-based hairstylist Niki Jackson during a visit to New York City took an unexpected turn when the scheduled model became unavailable just days before the shoot. Braylen quickly pivoted, reaching out to Liyah, a model he had photographed almost exactly one year earlier. Inspired by a hairstyle reminiscent of Janet Jackson's iconic Velvet Rope era, the last-minute change proved serendipitous, resulting in a shoot that felt both effortless and meant to be, bringing together the right creative team at exactly the right moment.
