KENDRICK BRINSON VISITS THE NC STATE FAIR

Southbound Magazine recently sent Kendrick Brinson to the North Carolina State Fair to capture the thrills and energy synonymous with state fairs everywhere. Kendrick strolled the fair’s 344 acres with her camera in hand, weaving through rides, games, and crowds — all while doing her best to avoid getting powdered sugar on her camera as she enjoyed an elephant ear (we’re impressed). In true homage to Kendrick’s roots as a photojournalist, she wasn’t there simply to shoot the fair — she was there to experience it. The resulting images are immersive and visceral. Just one more thing that sets Kendrick apart: she doesn’t just show up to shoot, she shows up to live and breathe the moment so that what’s captured is absolutely real.
