AP 41 HONORS DAVID WALTER BANKS

A whimsical, stunning image from David Walter Bank's compelling series, Trembling Earth, has been selected
as Chosen by American Photography 41.
About the image, David says: "This image is from my forthcoming book, titled 'Trembling Earth'. This conceptual lens-based environmental-advocacy project aims to raise awareness for Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp and its need for further protection from the extractive mining industry. There is intrigue to the Okefenokee Swamp, a mystical energy that renders these well-trodden waterways terra incognita to the first-time visitor. In this photographic essay, I’ve injected fantastical visual elements into my documentary photographs, using in-camera techniques rather than post-production effects, to portray both
the environmental and the metaphysical significance of the refuge."
