KENNEDI CARTER FEATURED IN REST IS POWER EXHIBIT

The Center for Black Visual Culture at NYU has curated an exceptional exhibition. Entitled Rest is Power, the collection of work (photographs, paintings and new media) that depicts the significance of rest in Black life.  The exhibit is an intiative of The Black Rest Project and seeks to consider healing through the exploration of rest as a revolutionary act. BRB argues that Black people’s collective exhaustion is not an acceptable byproduct of Black life or struggle but rather a crisis of depletion. Included in the exhibit is Kennedi Carter's breathtaking image (below) from her project Soon As I Get Home.
