AS WE RISE EXHIBIT FEATURING KENNEDI CARTER

As We Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic includes 'works by historical and contemporary photographers from across the African diaspora.' This powerful exhibit will be on display at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto through November 19th. Included is a stricking self portrait by Kennedi Carter. Untitled (Self-Portrait) (2020) documents Kennedi having her 'blond hair buzzed off during the pandemic when salons were shuttered under lockdown: a wholly personal and intimate act of care.'
