BRINSON + BANKS PHOTOGRAPH THEA MONYEE FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES

Thea Monyeé is an author, poet, and therapist. She is an Oya priestess who has devoted her therapy practice to healing Black and marginalized Americans. She founded the Innerground Railroad, a course that strives to empower Black students through spirtual and societal healing. Thea is also the  mother of three teenage daughters. Brinson + Banks recently photographed Thea with her daughters at her LA home. The feature touches on the measures parents have had to take to support their teenage children through the pandemic. Thea offers a unique persepctive rooted in her background in therapy and healing.
